The April 27 draft written by Congressmen Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) and Daniel Lipinski (D-Ill.) is signed by 35 to 40 congressional members, said Hunter spokesman Joe Kasper. The plan is \u201cbad for American <a href=\"http:\/\/www.findfreightloads.com\/\">truckers<\/a> and the entire commercial trucking industry,\u201d Hunter wrote.<br \/>\n<center><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/images.huffingtonpost.com\/2009-03-12-mexicanpotesters.jpg\" alt=\"truckers\" \/><\/center><br \/>\n\u201cThe proposal is an undue burden on taxpayers, including buying and monitoring electronic <a href=\"http:\/\/findfreightloads.com\/blog\/how-does-a-truck-driver-know-where-to-go\/\">on-board recorders <\/a>the department will require for Mexican trucks involved in the program,\u201d he wrote. \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/findfreightloads.com\/blog\/compromise-in-usmexico-cross-border-trucking\/\">The cross-border trucking program<\/a> is a straight handout to Mexico at the expense of American jobs, taxpayer dollars and security,\u201d he stated.  The agency has said it is funding <a href=\"http:\/\/findfreightloads.com\/blog\/how-does-a-truck-driver-know-where-to-go\/\">EOBRs <\/a>to ensure it will own and control data gathered by the devices.
