The annual event, hosted by Alberta Motor Transport Association, challenges each <a href=\"http:\/\/dacoff.com\/\">driver <\/a>to demonstrate his or her driving and inspection skills, knowledge and professionalism through a series of rigourous tests. The drivers under went a written examination, personal interview, pre-trip inspection test and driving skills test.<\/p>\n<p>Finalists in each of five categories move on to compete at the National <a href=\"http:\/\/truckerhunt.com\/\">Truck Driving<\/a> Championships which will be held in Moncton, N.B. later this year.<\/p>\n<p>The event standings are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>Straight Truck Division<br \/>\nFirst Place: Keith Franklin &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nSecond Place: Randy James Smith &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nThird Place: Kevin Corscadden &#8211; Sokil Express<\/p>\n<p>Single, Single Division<br \/>\nFirst Place: Calvin Briggs &#8211; Grimshaw Trucking<br \/>\nSecond Place: Darren Tychkowsky &#8211; Fed-Ex Freight<br \/>\nThird Place: Kent Friesen &#8211; Canadian Freightways<\/p>\n<p>Single Tandem Division<br \/>\nFirst Place: Rick Ross &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nSecond Place: Gordon Lowen &#8211; Grimshaw Trucking<br \/>\nThird Place: Rob Pirzek &#8211; YRC Reimer Express<\/p>\n<p>Tandem, Tandem Division<br \/>\nFirst Place: Paul Mills &#8211; Canada Safeway<br \/>\nSecond Place: Rod Harrison &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nThird Place: Kevin Chapman &#8211; Orlicks Transport<\/p>\n<p>B-Train Division<br \/>\nFirst Place: Lonni Wilton &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nSecond Place: Steve Calhoun &#8211; Canadian Freightways<br \/>\nThird Place: Jim Pennington &#8211; Sokil Express<\/p>\n<p>Grand Champion:  Paul Mills &#8211; Canada Safeway<\/p>\n<p>Rookie of the Year: Andre Roy &#8211; Bison Transport<\/p>\n<p>Team Award: Canadian Freightways &#8211; Calgary<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rightnowloads.com\/\">http:\/\/rightnowloads.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Alberta\u2019s top drivers from across the province descended on the Rosenau Transport yard Calgary to compete in the AMTA Truck Driving Champtionship June 16.
