Following complaints by the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association that the processing of containers had been delayed resulting in its members having to pay increased fees, the port extended business hours late last week to clear the backlog.
Mitzie Gordon Burke-Green, President of the Customs Brokers and Freight Forwarders Association, told RJR News on Sunday night that the situation had improved, after the authorities extended the processing of containers by two hours on Thursday and Friday, and a full day on Saturday.
